Who said we can’t get things clean the natural way? There are plenty of ways to clean our home using baking soda that are healthier for our body, inexpensive, which can safely be used in place of commercial household products.


 

For bakers, baking soda is a staple in the pantry. But did you know that it could also be used as a cleaning agent all around the house? Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate is a chemical compound. A salt that is composed of sodium ions and bicarbonate ions. Other common names are bread soda, cooking soda and bicarbonate of soda. Baking soda is widely used for the longest time that’s why it is no surprise that you can buy it in any convenience or grocery store.   1. Use it as a wall scrub. Mix equal parts of water and baking soda and scrub your walls with marks and pen or crayon stain.
  2. Use it to unclog your sink. The combination of baking soda and vinegar can work magic into your sink. Put a cup of baking soda in the drain and let it stand for at least an hour. Boil around 2 cups of vinegar and pour it down the drain. Lastly, run hot water in the drain and your clog will be gone add to that your sink will have a nice smell.
  3. Use your baking soda to clean your grout. Sprinkle some baking soda unto the grout spray some water and leave it for 10-20 minutes. Scrub the grout with a brush and wipe the remaining powder away.
  4. For feline loving houses, baking soda can be used to deodorize the litter box. Sprinkle some baking soda into the litter box every time you change it.
  5. Use to clean your oven. Spray your oven with vinegar and add some baking soda into it. Let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour and start scrubbing inside.
  6. A carpet deodorizer. Sprinkle some baking soda on your carpet before you vacuum it.
  7. Adding a cup of baking soda on your laundry will give it a extra boost of cleanliness and helps maintain the clothing’s quality.
  8. Use for plastic containers. Containers that are stained and has that smell of food stuck into it can be fixed by mixing some baking soda and a quart of warm water. Use this as your cleaning agent.
  9. Baking soda can absorb odors inside your fridge.
  10. Sponges can be soaked in baking soda mixed with water to freshen and clean them up for further usage.
  11. Sneakers with an unwanted smell can be freshened up by sprinkling baking soda inside your shoes. Leave it and tap it out when you need to use the shoes again.
  12. Garbage can odors can be eliminated by putting some baking soda on the bottom of the can.
  13. To keep your linen closet smelling and looking fresh, place an opened box of baking soda near your sheets.
