Importance of Wheat

Wheat belongs to the cereal grasses family. It has countless varieties although the most common one used is called Triticu, Aestivum which is used in making bread and pasta. Softer type of wheat is also used for baking and some are used for the production of gluten, alcohol and other food items. Its long slender leaves that stems that are hallow can distinguish the plant of the wheat.

Among the varieties of wheat available today, the whole wheat is the most nutritious of them all. Although consuming wheat constitutes a good nutrition for the body, it is still important to know the limitations. Not everyone is fortunate to be able to consume food items with wheat. There are some who have allergic reactions to it. Knowing this, you should be more aware if you feel different when consuming wheat, consult your physician as well. People who are allergic to wheat experience itching, skin rashes and eczema. Whole wheat contains oxalates that are natural substances present in animals, plants and humans. Too much oxalate can cause health problems such as gallstones, kidney stones and gout. Knowing this, we should seek the advise of a professional and also always remember to always eat in moderation. Too much of something is never a good thing.
