Smoothies are refreshing drinks packed with health-boosting nutrients. They’re easy-to-sip-on-the-go and convenient meals for the busy ones. However, smoothies from grocery stores and quick-service chains often contain unbelievable amounts of sugar that can pad your waistline with excess sugar, fat, and artificial ingredients. The best way to enjoy a smoothie . . . is to make it yourself.

This Banana, Pineapple and Oatmeal Smoothie recipe for example is a nutrition powerhouse that can pump you full of healthy fruits. It is easy to prepare with fruit, milk, protein, immune-boosting yogurt, and other nutritious ingredients—and they’re great for those on a smoothie diet, too.

1 medium sized frozen banana (peel removed before frozen)
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

NOTE: we recommend freezing your fresh fruits so there’s no need to add ice cubes when you blend all ingredients

1/2 cup milk (you can substitute skimmed milk if you’re on diet)
2 tablespoon oatmeal (you can also soak the oatmeal with milk an hour before you blend)
6 ounces Greek yogurt

  1. In a blender, blend all ingredients until smooth, about 3 to 4 minutes. Use a spatula to scrape the sides down as needed throughout blending.
  2. Serve immediately.

You can keep the extra in a sealed cup, store in fridge and drink whenever you feel hungry.
