Green smoothies are very nutritious are easy to digest. As opposed to juices, they are more complete food because they still have fibre.


 

Who wants to eat bowls of green leafy vegetables? Not too many but blend them up with fruits and you’ve got a meal that not only tastes good, but is healthy as well. Vegetables and fruit smoothies can fill you up, quench your sweet cravings and provide you with loads of vitamins and antioxidants, particularly the ones we call green smoothies.

Green smoothies are blended drinks using fresh fruits and dark, leafy greens. They are quick, easy and affordable way to boost the nutrition you’re getting in your diet. The basic green smoothie recipe is very easy to prepare: pick your greens, then your fruits, and your liquid. Just make sure you wash them thoroughly before you blend it up.

Watermelon, Celery & Mint Refresher

  • 1 small handful of mint leaves
  • 2 big slices of watermelon, seeds removed
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 big handful baby spinach
  • 2-3 sticks of celery
  • 2/3 cup coconut milk

 


 

Berry and Moringa Green Smoothie Recipe

  • 1/2 cup black berries
  • 1/2 fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups fresh Malungay (moringa) leaves
  • 8 ounces unsweetened almond milk

 


 

Spinach, Carrot and Ginger Turmeric Smoothie

Baby-Spinach

  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 1 orange, peeled (seeds removed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric (or cinnamon)
  • 1 medium carrot, chopped
  • 1/4 lemon, peeled (seeds removed)
  • 1-2 handfuls of fresh baby spinach
  • 8 ounces unsweetened almond milk

 


 

Cucumber Apple Parsley

  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 apple
  • 4 sprigs parsley
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

 


 

Peppermint Mocha

  • 1 banana (peeled)
  • 1 apple (chopped)
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint (stemmed)
  • 1 tablespoon cacao nibs
